Culture Lab 2 (elective)

If you opt for this session of IFSA-Butler's Culture Lab, you will leave knowing how to put into words your own cultural identity; and how to talk about some of the values, beliefs and norms that make up your cultural heritage and background. You will meet others from different backgrounds and be able to identify cultural differences within the United States, as well as similarities that many people fromt he US share. You'll also be aware of cultural stereotypes of "Americans", particularly in Britain and across Europe. Finally, we will discuss why awareness of these stereotypes and some understanding of the origins of these stereotypes can help you to successfully navigate your future in a global, multicultural world. This class is an elective for students taking Culture Lab, and all students must attend at least one elective session.
